Ebony Hardwood has been used for generations for its dark cocoa coloured wood and its uniquely dense properties finding itself mainly in luxury wooden works.

Ebony HardWood (Diospyros ebenum)

This tree is typically found growing in dry regions in the forests of Sri Lanka and India with it main exports going to Asia and Europe. The tree grows slowly to about 20-25 m in height where it produces berries, which have found their way into medicine and have even been used by the locals to catch fish using an ancient water poisoning technique.
